Supply and Resource Links
I’m so glad you are joining me in the course, Poetic Pigments! I encourage you to use what you already have before purchasing additional items; many items you already have will serve the purpose needed for the course. Here are supply + resource links for the course:
Pure pigments in multiple colors [at least 3-5]
We have a few sets of pure pigments from France in our shop HERE and HERE; you can also
purchase a sample set of pigments HERE.
Clove or Thieves Essential Oil [optional]
Molding paste [optional]
Plaster [optional] Venetian Plaster like what I use
Refined Linseed Oil [if you’d like to make oil paint]
Oil paint tubes [if you make oil paint]
Glass muller and slab - this is a great starter one, if you continue you may want a larger one
Onion skins
Dry black beans
Turmeric
Foam brush
Cheesecloth
Glass or acrylic sheets for anthotypes, 8×10+
Palette knife [comes with slab and muller if you purchase the above]
Watercolor and/or mixed media paper
Gray palette paper [optional]
Acrylic paint in your palette
Paint brushes in various sizes
Charcoal - I like these chunky ones in additional to regular sized
Primed Canvas or primed canvas sheets — your choice of size, the bigger the better to experiment with pigments
Meanstreak Marker [optional]
SoHo Art Materials - the exclusive dealer of Wallace Seymour pigments and paints. In the video I used a jar of acrylic. They have wonderful drawing stones, oil paint, and ink. The color I used in the course was Lakeland Slate Acrylic.
